Frequently Asked Questions

How does plug-and-play solar work?
The microinverter converts DC power from the solar panels to AC power that feeds directly into your home's electrical system through a standard wall outlet. Your appliances use this power first, reducing what you draw from the grid.
Is this legal in Utah?
Yes! Utah passed legislation allowing plug-and-play solar systems up to 1,200 watts without permits. All our kits are within this limit.
What's the difference between the kits?
The 900W kit uses an APsystems inverter with 2 panels - great for apartments and small spaces. The 1200W kits use an EcoFlow STREAM inverter with 3 or 4 panels - maximizing your savings while staying under Utah's 1,200W permit-free limit.
What if I generate more power than I use?
Excess power feeds back to the grid. Most Utah utilities have net metering, so you'll get credit for power you export. Check with your utility about their specific metering.
Can I install this myself?
Absolutely! No electrician needed. If you can mount a TV and plug in a lamp, you can install these kits. The panels mount with included Z-brackets, connect to the inverter with simple plug-in cables, and the inverter plugs into any 120V outlet.
What about my apartment?
These kits are perfect for apartments! Many renters mount panels on their balcony railing or set them up on a patio. Check with your landlord, but since there's no permanent modification, most are fine with it.
