Solar FAQs

Short, plain-English answers to the questions we hear most—plus links to deeper dives on benefits, incentives, off-grid, and EV charging.

Incentives & Tax Credits

Are there tax or other incentives for solar and batteries?
There are federal and state incentives that may apply to commercial installations depending on your situation. A tax professional can confirm eligibility. Unfortunately, residential incentives are going away January of 2026. We’ll help you identify all applicable incentives, rebates, and potential grants as part of your quote. If you have questions, contact us.

Benefits & Savings

What are the main benefits of switching to solar?
Lower monthly costs, predictable long-term rates, backup during outages with batteries, increased property appeal, and the option to fuel EVs at home. Dive deeper on our Benefits of Solar page.

Costs & Pricing

How much do solar panels (a system) cost?
Total cost depends on system size, equipment, roof conditions, and any add-ons like batteries or EV chargers. We’re transparent about pricing and provide a tailored estimate—no pressure. Start with an instant quote, then we’ll fine-tune it to your site.

Lifespan & Warranty

How long do solar panels last?
Most panels carry 25–30 year performance warranties and can keep producing well beyond that with proper care. We’ll match equipment to your goals and site for long-term performance.

Roof & Mounting

Do solar panels work on my roof type?
We install on asphalt shingles, metal, tile, and flat roofs. If rooftop isn’t ideal, a ground mount may be a better fit. We’ll assess and recommend the best design for your property.

Production & Weather

How much electricity will my panels generate? What about cloudy days or at night?
Output depends on roof orientation, shading, system size, and local weather. Production is lower on cloudy days and zero at night. With batteries, you can store daytime solar to use after dark or during outages.

Maintenance & Monitoring

How do I maintain a solar system?
Maintenance is typically light—occasional rinsing with water and a soft cloth to remove dust or debris. We actively monitor our installs and will reach out if we detect issues, then help you troubleshoot.
